The Local Advantage
Want local customers?
Don’t spend another penny on websites and marketing until you have this audit.
If you don’t know how the money you spend turns into paying customers, this is for you.

Problem 1:
Most business owners don’t know what’s happening with their website and marketing.
They’ve trusted someone else with their MOST IMPORTANT ASSET.
They lack access.
They don’t understand the tracking.
They can’t see clearly what is working and what is not.
It’s like buying a house and giving someone else the keys.
- You own it, but you can’t get inside it.
- You can’t see what condition it is in.
- You can’t tell whether it’s an asset or is working against you.
You’re told everything is fine.
You’re shown polished reports.
But when you strip it back, all you see is cost.
And you cannot clearly connect that cost to making more money.
Problem 2:
Local marketing is not the same as national marketing.
National brands can afford broad, high-volume keywords. A local business cannot.
If you target general terms, you end up competing with national companies with bigger budgets and stronger domain authority. You either never get seen, or you are seen in areas you do not even serve.
Local visibility depends on intent and geography.
“Kitchen ideas” is not the same as “kitchen installer Wisbech.”
“Best Boiler” is not the same as “boiler repair Portsmouth.”
One attracts browsers.
One attracts buyers.
If your keywords do not reflect local buying intent, you either disappear behind national brands or pay for traffic that will never convert.
A local business does not need a lot of traffic. It needs the right traffic, in the right place.

Problem 3:
Websites are not usually set up to attract traffic.
Annoying, I know.
You paid a website designer, and they said it was SEO optimised.
They installed a so-called SEO plugin like Rank Math or Yoast and thought that was the job done.
Nobody sat down and worked out what people in your area are actually typing into Google.
There was no proper keyword plan.
So your page titles do not match real local searches.
Your URLs do not reflect the services and towns you want to be found for.
Your content talks about you and your products, not what the customer is searching.
The plugin is not the strategy.
If the thinking wasn’t done at the start, all you have is a pretty brochure online that does little to attract customers.
Be Seen When Your Customers Are Looking
Your customers are already there. They are looking for you.
When someone needs a new kitchen, a boiler repair, a driveway, a solicitor, a decorator, whatever it is, they don’t wait for a leaflet. They don’t flick through a directory. They pick up their phone and hit Google.
Then they choose from what they see the quickest.
The question isn’t whether people are searching. They are.
The question is whether you’re one of the businesses they see when they do.
Because if you’re not showing up with the right message, in the areas that matter, your competitors are taking those enquiries instead.
Being “online” isn’t the same as being visible. Having a website isn’t the same as being found. Posting occasionally isn’t a strategy.
Local visibility must be built around what people are actually searching for and where you work.
If that isn’t structured and measured, you’re leaving it to chance.
Who is The Local Advantage For?
Business owners who want more local traffic and need to understand how visible they are in the areas that matter.
You’re paying an agency and are not sure that you are getting the results
You’re dabbling in your own marketing, but you don’t know what’s working and what’s not
You’re thinking about bringing marketing in-house, and you want a proper structure before you do
You work for a national company with local branches, and you need each location to perform properly in its own area
You’re a reputable website or marketing service provider who wants a clear local search strategy for your clients
You don’t quite know what the solution is, but you know something isn’t right.
If your growth depends on being found in the right places, at the right time, this is where you start.

Here’s What’s Included in the Customised Local Marketing Plan
1. Benchmark current performance.
Complete audit of existing website and internet visibility including traffic analysis and backlin audit.
2. Set up analytics correctly.
We will either do this for you if we can have access or give you instructions to set up yourself. Includes Google Tag Manager, GA4, Search Console and Microsoft Clarity.
3. Competitor analysis.
We’ll analyse your top competitors to find out what keywords drive traffic to their site. We’ll use this to tell you how to steal their website traffic.
We’ll also give you a list of backlinks that your competitors have that you don’t.
4. Google Business Profile audit.
Your GBP is the single most valuable asset for a local business and it’s free. We’ll audit your listing and tell you how to get the most of your free entry to target more keywords.
5. Content audit.
Want to know why your website isn’t performing well? We’ll audit your content and tell you what’s missing, what needs to be improved, and how to optimise it for search engines.
6. On-page SEO audit.
This audit looks at the structure of your site and the SEO foundations. The on page audit looks at the URL structure, meta description, title tags, headings, internal linking and page structure. Each page will be analysed and scored against competitors. You’ll receive instructions for improving the pages for ranking in Google.
7. Audit technical SEO issues
Technical issues can sound scary, especially if you’ve never had anything to do with your website. They needn’t be though. Most things are easily fixable when you know how. Others may not be important unless your competitors are getting it right and outranking you. Most local businesses are not.
8. Off-page SEO audit.
An off-page SEO audit for a local business involves evaluating its backlinks, social media presence, online reviews, and brand reputation to improve search engine rankings and online visibility.
For each of the audit points you’ll receive a plan and instructions for improving them if necessary. See the table below to see which aspects require access to your website.
If this feels overwhelming, don’t worry. We’ll guide you through to find access to everything to get you started. You’ve got to start somewhere or you’ll never have control over your business.

What happens now?
Once we’ve completed your audits and analysis, we’ll provide you with a plan to work on based on your goals. We will discuss this with you before we start and you will complete a form so that we know your level of experience and what access you have.
You’d probably like to know how much your Customised Local Marketing Plan costs?
We realise that local businesses come in all shapes and sizes. Whatever stage you are at in your business growth journey, we have a plan for you.
The costs are based on target keywords in multiples of 8. So even if you have a bigger company, you can start with 8 and see how you get on.
A target keyword will also have associated keywords known as a cluster. For instance, if your target keyword was ‘secondary glazing’, that would be your target keyword, but the page you use to target that keyword would also target terms like secondary double glazing and sash window secondary glazing, which are also valid keyword targets but may not justify a page of their own.
